Banner QM42 series vibration and temperature sensors mounted on electric motors and gearboxes let us identify faults and predict them before they happen. By default the sensors measure RMS velocity, giving the most uniform measurement of vibration across machine frequencies.
After the sensor is installed, enough vibration data is collected to establish a baseline for the machine. By tracking vibration on the X and Z axes together with surface temperature, we classify the data according to ISO 10816 and define alarm and fault thresholds.
The data can be passed to higher-level control systems and integrated with SCADA and ERP. Where running cables is difficult, we install the system over wireless communication modules.
Monitoring motors, pumps, compressors, fans and gearboxes for rising vibration means problems are found and fixed before they reach the point of no return and before unplanned stops occur.
